THE NUDE MONA LISA – ITS SECRETS HAVE FINALLY BEEN REVEALED!

The Nude Mona Lisa is one of the most enigmatic works in Chantilly's vast collection of graphic arts. Sometimes referred to as the “nude double” of the famous Mona Lisa, it was acquired by the Duke d'Aumale in 1862 who believed it to be an original drawing by Leonardo da Vinci. Since then and despite many similarities to the iconic painting in the Louvre, its attribution has undergone several modifications. The current exhibition at Chantilly reveals new research and finally puts to rest the question of this drawing's authorship and legacy. The "Nude Mona Lisa" is curated by Dr. Mathieu Deldicque (Musée Condé, Chantilly), Vincent Delieuvin (Musée du Louvre) and Guillaume Kazerouni (Musée des Beaux-Arts, Rennes), and is on view from June 1 to October 6, 2019. The Friends of the Domaine de Chantilly is proud to be a sponsor of this exhibition and would like to thank the many donors who contributed to its organization. Find out more here Save
