A hotly-anticipated event every year, the Prix de Diane Longines fulfilled all of its promises on Sunday 19th June 2016. No fewer than 35,000 spectators flocked to Chantilly’s magnificent racecourse to watch the world’s most prestigious race for fillies! A whole host of talented racehorses thundered around the legendary Chantilly turf in a quest for glory. La Cressonnière and Cristian Demuro revelled in their victory as they took the laurels in the day’s eponymous race, the Prix de Diane Longines.
In addition to this outstanding Group I competition, a total of nine races were run over the course of the afternoon. While Spring Master and Olivier Peslier saw off all competition in the Prix du Lys Longines, a Group III race, Antoine Coutier rode to glory in the Prix Bertrand du Breuil Longines, another Group III, atop Pas de Deux.
Young jockeys and apprentices and Lady Riders stepped into the spotlight for the Prix Longines Future Racing Stars and Championnat du Monde Longines Fegentri races, whose participants hailed from all over the world.
