Raphael at Chantilly. The Master and his Pupils
March 7, 2020 - August 30, 2020
Château de Chantilly, Cabinet d'arts graphiques
On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of Raffaello Sanzio or Raphael (1483-1520), the Domaine de Chantilly will pay tribute to this immense Renaissance master.
The many drawings collected by the Duke d’Aumale will cover the artist’s entire career. Starting from his first sketches made under the influence of his master, the Perugino, the exhibition will focus on the religious compositions of his Florentine period and on the masterpieces linked to the great Roman decorations, leading to the rich production of his students.
This exhibition is made possible through the support of the Friends of the Domaine de Chantilly and Christie’s.
