SUMMARY:Fable & Bibliophilia
DESCRIPTION:During the 19th century\, Henri d’Orléans\, duke d’Aumale\, assembled one of the most incredible collection of books and manuscripts housed today in the Château de Chantilly. Among this holding are books of fables – short stories which generally utilize animals and legendary creatures to convey a moral – which gained in popularity between the 16th and 18th centuries. \n“Fable & Bibliomania\,” curated by Marie-Pierre Dion\, curator of the library at Chantilly\, presents rare and iconic books from the Duke d’Aumale’s library and allows visitors to rediscover this important literary genre as well as the extraordinary richness of Chantilly’s collection.
